Raj Patel, DDS, had his own race around the world after he ran seven marathons in seven days on seven continents, the Missoulian reports.
Here's what you should know.
1. The Tulsa, Okla.-based dentist completed the World Marathon Challenge saying it was "probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, mentally, emotionally, physically ... and financially, too. In hindsight, it’s surreal. And it was an incredible experience. I just want to thank Jesus for allowing me to do it.”
2. Dr. Patel earned his dental degree from the Norman-based University of Oklahoma, and has been in practice for the last 26 years.
3. He started running when he was 44-years-old, completing the World Marathon Challenge six years later.
4. In the six years since starting running, Dr. Patel has completed 92 marathons.
