The Academy of Osseointegration awarded its first AO certificates in implant dentistry to Paul Binon, DDS, and Steven Present, DMD.
Here's what you should know.
1. The providers completed 200 continuing education hours over three years, including 85 hours based on "core knowledge." They also submitted presentations on the following categories: single tooth, fixed partial denture, full arch fixed reconstruction and overdenture.
2. They also maintained AO membership for three years and attending at least two annual meetings.
3. AO created the program after its 2016 Annual Meeting to recognize providers in implant dentistry.
4. In a statement, the organization said, "The certificate represents the highest standards of excellence in implant dentistry and distinguishes practitioners' continuing education efforts and knowledge to patients and colleagues around the globe."
