Florida man poses as dentist while operating illegal dental practice: 4 insights

Tampa, Fla., resident Adel Rahman Hussein Rabah was arrested for operating a dental practice without a license under the name of Dr. Abdel Rahman, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Here are four insights:

1. Federal investigators found Mr. Rabah’s illegal dental practice a few miles away from his home in Tampa. Investigators indicated he had been transferring patients’ teeth to his home to dispose them.

2. Investigators found various social medical accounts for Mr. Rabah’s fake dental practice and the work he claimed to be licensed to do. While the accounts are no longer active, investigators obtained photos falsely showing Mr. Rabah’s dentistry work.

3. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement first learned of Mr. Rabah’s illegal work in December 2017. Since then, Homeland Security, the U.S. FDA and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has been brought in to investigate.

4. He is being held in jail on multiple charges related to unlicensed practice. His bond is set at $30,000.
