Tennessee dentist admits to pre-signing prescription pads: 3 notes

Jefferson City, Tenn.-based dentist Warren Stinson, DDS, settled his prescription drug fraud case with the Tennessee Department of Health, according to the Citizen Tribune.

Here are three notes.

1. Dr. Stinson admitted to pre-signing prescription pads. A typical pad was already signed for 12 Norco pills and 30 antibiotic pills. The front desk staff simply stamped the medication on the pre-signed pad.

2. Per the agreement, Dr. Stinson will be on probation for three years and pay a $3,000 fine.

3 Dr. Stinson must also complete a state-approved controlled substance prescribing course.
