The Tennessee Board of Dentistry suspended a dentist's license indefinitely after employees accused him of abusing laughing gas while on the job, according to the Tennessean.
Here are five things to know:
1. Ronald Wright Jr., DDS, was a dentist at Tennessee Endodontics in Brentwood. Employees there allege the dentist locked himself in a closet while using nitrous oxide. Patients were often sent home with rescheduled appointments, employees said.
2. After employees reported the alleged behavior to the Tennessee Board of Dentistry, they claim Dr. Wright told them to lie about his laughing gas use to officials and investigators.
3. Dr. Wright signed an order with the Tennessee Board of Dentistry regarding his license suspension. By signing the order, he agreed to not contest the abuse allegations.
4. If Dr. Wright seeks to reinstate his license in another state, he must undergo addiction treatment and evaluation by the Tennessee Dental Association's wellness committee. If his license is restored, he will remain on probation for five years.
5. In 2016, Dr. Wright had his medical license reprimanded for not completing continuing education hours that dealt with anesthesia use.
