Woman posing as fake dentist arrested again for illegally practicing dentistry — 6 insights

A Marietta, Ga., woman performing unlicensed dentistry operations was arrested again for allegedly posing as a dentist, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. Krista Szewczyk was arrested for the second time in two weeks for allegedly posing as a dentist. Ms. Szewczyk allegedly pulled teeth, applied fillings, replaced crowns and wrote prescriptions for pain medication with no medical license or formal dental experience.

2. Investigators seized several of Ms. Szewczyk's assets from her home and office early Sept. 6, but she was not present at either location.Officers pulled Ms. Szewczyk over for reportedly driving with an expired tag later in the day. Officers arrested her once they saw an active warrant.

3. Ms. Szewczyk was charged with practicing dentistry without a license Aug. 23. She was released on $5,000 bond. According to investigators, she had been performing procedures for at least six years.

4. Ms. Szewczyk was accused of performing illegal dental work in 2012. She was enrolled into a pre-trial diversion program because her husband was a Paulding County sheriff's deputy, and the state district attorney's office determined it was a conflict of interest to pursue charges.

5. Investigators received several tips that Ms. Szewczyk allegedly continued to perform procedures.

6. Paulding and Cobb county investigators expect more charges will be brought against Ms. Szewczyk.
