Delta Dental of California's board of directors voted to terminate CEO Tony Barth, effective immediately.
Here are five things to know:
1. The board terminated Mr. Barth's employment after he failed to report a consensual relationship with a subordinate employee.
2. Delta Dental CFO Mark Castro was elected to serve as interim CEO. Senior Vice President of Finance Alicia Weber is acting as CFO during this transition.
3. Mr. Castro will be assisted by board member Steven McCann, who will serve as special advisor to the CEO.
4. Chief Human Resource Officer Sarah Chavarria will also provide support to Mr. Castro.
5. During this time, the CEO office will report to the board of directors, who will have oversight of operations. The board plans to launch a formal search to identify a permanent CEO.
