American Academy of Implant Dentistry elects new president: 5 things to know

The American Academy of Implant Dentistry selected Natalie Wong, DDS, to serve as its next president.

Here are five things to know:

1. Dr. Wong is the first female and first Canadian to be elected as president of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

2. Previously, Dr. Wong served as the co-director and associate-in-dentistry clinical instructor at the University of Toronto in Canada, where she also earned her doctor of dental surgery degree.

3. Dr. Wong is a past president of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry as well as the Association of Prosthodontists of Ontario.

4. After earning her certificate in prosthodontics from Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan, Dr. Wong went on to find and direct the Toronto Implant Institute.

5. The American Academy of Implant Dentistry comprises more than 6,000 dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists and prosthodontists.
