6 trends in dentistry to expect in 2019

Dentistry is constantly evolving and changing as new technology and business structures are introduced. Here are six trends to keep an eye out for in 2019, according to Space Coast Daily.

1. Insurance dynamics: Similar to the medical industry, the turmoil around dental and health insurance will remain the same in 2019. Recently, the Children's Health Insurance Program was extended. Dentists will need to stay flexible and open to non-conventional payments.

2. 3D printing: While this technology has been around for years, it will become more dominate in 2019.

3. More competition online: Dentists can expect to see competitors using advertisement on social media and other platforms to attract new customers.

4. Continued rise of review sites: Now more than ever patients are using online review boards to express their praise or criticism for an experience at the dentist's office. This will be how new patients get referrals.

5. Digital capabilities: New software is hitting dental practices, such as online scheduling and payments. Dentists can expect a transition toward patients making appointments online versus over the phone.

6. Friendly financing: Because not all patients can pay upfront for services, dental practices offer financing options. Dentists can profit from financing options and can even do this in-house.
