Los Angeles dentist Benjamin Rosenberg, DDS, pleaded guilty to healthcare fraud, according to Law Fuel.
The March 2018 indictment accused Dr. Rosenberg of submitting more than $3.85 million in false and fraudulent insurance claims to various payers. Many of the false claims were for crowns and fillings that were never performed.
Dr. Rosenberg told the court he submitted false claims to MetLife, Anthem, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, United Health and United Concordia. Together, the insurers reimbursed Dr. Rosenberg more than $1.41 million.
The dentist's sentencing is scheduled for May 23.
