Walgreens opens first dental office in Florida store

After partnering with East Syracuse, N.Y.-based Aspen Dental last year, Walgreens has launched its first dental practice in its Palatka, Fla., store, according to First Coast News, an ABC News affiliate.

Kevon Rennie, DDS, is the lead dentist at the drugstore. Many of the patients he sees are walk-ins, surprised that the Walgreens has a dental office.

The practice includes exam rooms, a lobby and hallway, making it look and feel like a traditional dental office.

Walgreens chose Palatka to open its first dental practice because of the lack of dentists in the county. Dentists and dental care are in high demand, according to Dr. Rennie., who said he's already looking for a second dentist to help with the patient load.
