1. Husband and wife team Liem Do, DDS, and Phuong-Oanh Tran, DDS, agreed to pay $1 million to settle allegations that they submitted fraudulent claims to Washington state's Medicaid program.
2. East Syracuse, N.Y.-based Aspen Dental opened new practices in Texas, Virginia and Illinois. They will be run by:
• Amenze Ighodaro, DDS
• Christopher Mussetti, DMD
• Bo Yeon Bartilotta, DMD
3. Thomas Alms, DDS, agreed to pay $200,000 and surrender his dental license in Missouri after pleading guilty to Medicaid fraud.
4. Spokane, Wash., dentist James Stein-Sheridan Shelby, DDS, pleaded guilty March 19 to fraudulently prescribing opioids and distributing the narcotics to a former patient.
