App will deliver dentists to patients

A new app will allow patients to order up dental service to be provided in their homes, technology blog KnowTechie reports.

Dentulu, scheduled to launch May 20, allows users to search through its network of dentists and avoid an office visit.

The service's CEO, Arash Hakhamian, DDS, dismissed concerns about cleanliness and sanitation.

“We actually pride ourselves in maintaining the same sanitary conditions and infection control policies of most dental offices,” Dr. Hakhamian, told KnowTechie. “In fact, we believe the services are actually possible cleaner than a dental office where cross contamination is a serious issue.”

Dentulu also features tools to help users reduce stress and anxiety before their dental appointment.

The service costs $299. Partially subsidized oral healthcare may be available to qualifying patients. Patients in the San Diego, Orange County, Calif., and Los Angeles areas will have first access to the app, according to the report.
