How dental apps are changing the industry

Virtual dentistry is disrupting the dental industry, and dentists have mixed emotions about how it will affect patient care. However, dentists can leverage various applications to improve their practices and relationships with dentists, according to Forbes.

One app, Dental Manger, lets dentists organize patient treatment plans. Dentists can alter the treatment plans through the app and send updates to patients. Dental Manager also allows patients and providers to coordinate appointments and follow-up care.

For dentists looking to simplify complex clinical information for patients, they can use DCStory. The app also automatically alerts dentists of updates that need to be made to patient records, Forbes reports.

Toothpic is an app focused on diagnostics and access to care. Users are connected to a virtual dentist for a consultation. The goal is for virtual dentists to diagnosis patients prior to visiting a dental practice.

Dentists can also use apps to connect with fellow experts. Denti-Pro is among the social networking apps that allows providers to network and send information between one another. Dental practices can also download Brand Monitor to keep track on manufacturers' trademarks and developments.
