Patients say South Dakota dental office abruptly closed

Several patients of Countryside Dental are claiming that they can't get in contact with their dentist and that the doors of the practice are locked, according to local news station KELO.

One patient at the Huron, S.D.-based practice said he was scheduled to have an appointment with Brenon Farmer, DDS, on July 23. However, on the day of he received a call that the practice needed to cancel the appointment.

Countryside Dental allegedly told the patient that Dr. Farmer would reschedule the appointment. However, the patient found it odd, adding that he had purchased a membership to get dental work. Countryside Dental has not contacted him about rescheduling, the patient told KELO.

Memberships at Countryside Dental range between $2,500 and $5,000. Patients can receive exams, cleanings, extractions and fillings with the membership.

When the local news station called Countryside Dental a temporary employee answered the phone. The employee did not have dates on when Dr. Farmer and staff would be returning to the office.
