Dental care added to Denver alternative high school to keep students from missing class

Denver-based Florence Crittenton, a nonprofit alternative high school that provides healthcare, is now offering dental care to pregnant and parenting teens, according to the Denver Post

The Florence Crittenton clinic offers dental exams, cleanings and X-rays. The clinic will provide services like fillings and extractions beginning Jan. 2020.

The school recently added dental services to their healthcare facility, which already offers primary, pediatric and gynecological care, to keep teen mothers in school. It is Denver's fourth public school in four years to add routine dental care services, Kathrine Hale, RN, district nursing manager told the Denver Post.

Armani Manzanares, a 17 year old student at Florence Crittenton, told the Denver Post she can get care for herself and her one year old son without worrying about transportation.
