The dental industry welcomed another clear aligner competitor in November, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Two industry leaders partnered to launch Clear Blue Smiles.
Co-located in St. Louis and Northern Virginia, Clear Blue Smiles was founded by Kevin Dillard, former general counsel of the American Association of Orthodontists, and William Crutchfield, DDS, a leading orthodontist.
Similar to SmileDirectClub, Clear Blue Smiles will treat patients through remote dentistry technology.
"Technology has advanced to the point where, with the proper diagnostics, we can provide excellent treatment to patients remotely — giving them the best smile at an affordable price," Dr. Crutchfield said, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "With the Clear Blue Smiles model, parents don't need to take time off work or take their kids out of school. They don't have to rearrange their schedules or alter their lifestyles to receive quality orthodontic care."
