An advanced practice registered nurse at Bonita Springs, Fla.-based Bonita Dental Care has lost her license after allegedly treating a patient while under the influence of narcotics, according to Wink News.
A security guard at the practice claims to have found Kimberlee Sue Nottingham locked in the bathroom with a needle in her arm, according to the Florida Department of Health. She had gone to the bathroom after sedating a patient.
Ms. Nottingham was drug tested, which showed codeine and morphine in her blood stream. This is not the first incident Ms. Nottingham has been found doing drugs on the job. She allegedly told dentists at Bonita Dental Care that she has been stealing fentanyl for around 20 years, reports Wink News.
Ms. Nottingham can't practice until the state health department has been notified that she is safe to resume treating patients.
Bonita Dental declined to comment to Wink News.
