Texas man charged with illegally practicing dentistry in his home

A Houston resident has been charged with practicing dentistry without a license in his own home, according to local ABC affiliate KTRK.

Harley Rodriguez-Bonilla, 41, has been accused of performing dentistry without a license. Authorities said they had contacted Mr. Rodriguez-Bonilla to make an appointment for a denture fitting. When the officers arrived at Mr. Rodriguez-Bonilla's home, they were greeted by an assistant.

After checking in, the officers say there were guided upstairs. It was there that the officers allegedly found dental equipment and an examination table. Mr. Rodriguez-Bonilla allegedly took the impressions and photos of the officers for $900.

Local police also spoke to a woman who had allegedly received dental work from Mr. Rodriguez-Bonilla for $3,800.

After being arrested, Mr. Rodriguez-Bonilla allegedly told police that he had practiced dentistry in California and Florida. His bond was set a $25,000.
