Phishing email impersonates ADA president

A member of the American Dental Association received a phishing email from an address containing the ADA president's name and a link to view "membership details," the organization said March 2.

The email was not sent by ADA President Chad Gehani, DDS, and the association believes the email is meant to obtain information such as usernames and passwords.

If recipients clicked the link and entered information, they should immediately change their username and password, the ADA recommends.

If members receive a suspicious email, they can call the ADA toll-free number to confirm or deny authenticity.
