Community raises $30K to help Virginia dental practice damaged in protests

A Virginia dentist office that services underserved communities is back in action after being damaged in riots, according to CBS' WTVR.

Richmond (Va.) Dentistry for Children was damaged amid recent protests against racism and police brutality toward Black Americans.

A GoFundMe account set up by the Virginia Dental Association Foundation and the Virginia Dental Association raised more than $30,000 for the practice.

"It happened around 2 a.m. I got here around 10 a.m. and these boards were already put up," Brandon Allen, DDS, told WTVR. "I didn't put them here. People had already come to help us clean up. It lifted our hearts."
