NY dentist allegedly touched patient forcibly, could face prison time

Tonawanda, N.Y.-based dentist Tiberiu Sfintescu, DDS, was arraigned in court on one charge of forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor, according to local ABC affiliate WGRZ.

WGRZ reported that prosecutors say Dr. Sfintescu allegedly "intentionally and forcibly touched the intimate parts of a female patient during an appointment at his dental office in the Town of Tonawanda." The victim said the incident occurred May 27 around 11:30 a.m., according to WGRZ.

Dr. Sfintescu's next hearing is scheduled for Nov. 30. He could face up to a year in prison if he is convicted.
