12 dentists making headlines

From an FBI raid to thought leadership in the dental industry, here are the dentists making headlines in the past week:

1. Cornell Thomas, DDS, was named chief diversity officer and director of the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Edwardsville-based Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.

2. The FBI and police department conducted a raid of Lubbock, Texas-based Jason White Dentistry Jan. 14, a day after Jason White, DDS, was charged with receipt and distribution of child pornography.

3. Manu Chaudhry, DDS, president and dental director at Salem, Ore.-based Capitol Dental Care, participated in the discussion, "What to expect in the dental industry over the next 5 years" for Becker's virtual event.

4. Michael Tillery, DDS, warned against a recent "total mouth rehab" TikTok trend.

5. Former California Dental Association President Charles Wilson, DDS, died Dec. 23 at age 96, according to a Jan. 14 announcement from the organization.
