Dentistry startup Tend gets $125M in funding

New York City-based Tend, a dentistry startup launched in October 2019, raised an additional $125 million in series C funding, according to an April 12 news release.

The company aims to combine hospitality with patient experience to create new offerings such as visit customization and price transparency. Since its launch, the company has opened six locations across New York City, serving more than 20,000 patients and employing 256 team members.

Tend will use the new funding to expand nationally, with plans to increase its number of locations from six to 20 over the course of 2021, including new market entries in Washington, D.C., and Boston. The company is also launching a suite of services and dentist-designed consumer products.

The startup raised $37 million in a series B round of funding last year.
