5 dental donations totaling $60.2M

Six dental schools have received donations totaling $60.2 million in the last two months. 

Five recent donations: 

1. Medical and dental supplier Henry Schein donated $200,000 worth of healthcare products to two historically Black dental schools, the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C., and the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tenn.

2. High Point (N.C.) University received a $32 million donation from the Rick and Angie Workman Foundation for the university's upcoming school of dental medicine.

3. The University of Pikeville (Ky.) was given $25 million from an anonymous donor to establish a dental school. It is the largest single donation the school has received in its 133-year history. 

4. The Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine in Joplin, Mo., received a $3 million donation from the Joplin Regional Medical School Alliance, a nonprofit organization consisting of medical and community leaders.

5. Kim Martin, DMD, president of the New Mexico Dental Association, donated $25,000 to the Texas Tech University Hunt School of Dental Medicine in El Paso.
