Central Ozarks Medical Center in Camdenton, Mo., received approval to build a $3.5 million dental and health clinic in Camden, according to Lake News Online.
Here are five insights:
1. COMC plans to incorporate dental, medical and behavioral services in the new clinic. Additionally, the group plans on additional physician, two dentists, a dental hygienist and a behavior therapist.
2. The new clinic will replace COMC's three current clinics, which were founded in 1979. In 2015, the three clinics provided health services to 11,231 patients, including 34,377 medical visits, 7,311 dental visits and 366 medical health visits.
3. To secure funding, COMC received a $1 million grant form HHS and a $250,000 grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health to purchase four dental operatories for the new facility.
4. HHS donated an additional $350,000 in annual funding for dental staffing.
5. COMC will put the project out to bid in late January 2018.
