Rising dental sales drive Patterson's Q2 fiscal results

St. Paul, Minn.-based Patterson's dental sales increased 12.1 percent in the second quarter of its fiscal year, driven by strong sales growth across consumables, equipment and value-added services.

Patterson reported stronger-than-expected fiscal results Dec. 2 as dental offices continued to reopen after spring lockdowns. Net sales increased to $1.55 billion for the fiscal year ending Oct. 24, a 9.5 percent increase from the same period a year ago.

Sales in its dental segment rose to $632 million on strong sales of consumables. The company's larger animal health segment also saw its internal sales grow 7.8 percent to $914.2 million.
