Many dentists have taken to teledentistry during the pandemic, but there may be effective ways to use the technology in the years to come.
In a June 25 article she wrote for the California Dental Association, dental benefits analyst Cindy Hartwell shared four teledentistry strategies that dentists can continue to use after the pandemic:
- Triaging patients who are sheltered in place or live in rural areas
- Holding synchronous meetings with new patients to build a relationship
- Providing patients with online forms to fill out to better inform their video chat appointments
- Supervising hygiene at satellite locations or during weekend hours
