Dental practices using Windows Server urged to apply security update

Dental practices using Microsoft Windows Server as a domain controller should apply the security update Microsoft issued in August to avoid a cybersecurity incident, according to ADA News.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency recently issued guidance urging all businesses that use Microsoft Windows Server to apply the security update which removes a vulnerability hackers could use to achieve domain administrator access.

The agency said it believes cyberattacks are occurring for businesses that use the system because code that exploits the vulnerability was publicly released in early September.
