Irvine, Calif.-based Pacific Dental Services has implemented its Cone Beam Computed Tomography in 100 dental offices, according to a Dec. 17 news release.
The imaging tool lets dentists see oral cavities in 3D, making it easier to diagnose conditions, the release said. It also lets patients be more engaged with their care by seeing what their dentists see and understanding their dental conditions.
"The addition of CBCT technology to my dental practice has improved the experience for both patients and dentists," Robert Seymour, DMD, owner dentist at Mesa, Ariz.-based Canyon Lakes Dental Group and Orthodontics, said in the release. "CBCT allows dentists to obtain full diagnostic information in half the time of 2D X-rays. This more comprehensive view of the mouth gives patients a better understanding of their dental conditions and allows dentists to more effectively communicate the critical link between oral and whole- body health."
