Dental artificial intelligence company Pearl recently obtained a patent for its new AI system used to detect dental insurance fraud, waste and abuse.
The new system uses computer algorithms to automatically detect claims with doctored and duplicative claims evidence, according to an Aug. 11 press release.
It is estimated that insurance carriers lose about $12.5 billion annually to fraud and irregularities in dental claim submissions.
The patent is Pearl's fourth this year.
