Average hourly pay for specialty dentists in 27 states

Specialty dentists have the highest mean hourly wage in Connecticut, where they make an average of $150.24 per hour, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The agency released updated compensation data April 3 to reflect May 2023 information, the latest available.

Note: Compensation data for specialty dentists was not available in every state. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons, prosthodontists and orthodontists are not included in this data.
