A survey conducted by the Virginia Dental Association Foundation found that 79% of Virginia residents on Medicaid have struggled to find a dentist that accepts Medicaid, according to an Oct. 18 report by Bristol Herald Courier.

Of the approximately 176 respondents, 132 said they had insurance. Of those 132 patients, 88 had Medicaid coverage, but only 20 individuals were able to find a dentist that accepted Medicaid.

The survey was conducted following the 23rd annual Mountains of Mercy dental clinic, which provided care to around 500 patients.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
