Alaska dentist retires after 50 years

Tom Jacobsen, DDS, recently retired after more than 50 years in the dental industry, kcaw.org reported Dec. 18.

Dr. Jacobsen received his dental degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City in 1969. He joined Sitka (Alaska) Dental Clinic in 1977 and practiced there until his retirement Dec. 14, according to the practice’s website.

Dr. Jacobsen will be following up with patients over the next few months before fully retiring, the radio station reported.
