Ifeanyi Ozoh was found guilty of paying marketers amounts of $20 to $100 for each Medicaid-insured child that was referred to Floss Family Dental Care, totaling more than $163,000 in bribes to marketers, according to a Feb. 14 news release from the Justice Department.
Marketers testified that Mr. Ozoh paid them in cash and out of sight of witnesses.
Earlier this year, the operator of the clinic pleaded guilty to submitting fraudulent claims to Medicaid and paying kickbacks to marketers and caregivers of Medicaid-insured children.
Between 2020 and 2021, the clinic billed Medicaid over $6 million, receiving more than $4 million of the claims for services that were often not provided.
Mr. Ozoh faces up to 25 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, the release said. Sentencing is scheduled for May 21, according to the release.
