The school will use the funding to create a dental general practice residency program with a future hospital partner, according to a Feb. 29 news release.

The program aims to provide a pipeline for the dental workforce for hospitals and other settings throughout Wisconsin.

Gov. Tony Evers recently signed a four-bill dental package that includes scholarships to students at the dental school who agree to practice in dental shortage areas.
