Alabama dentist convicted of sexually abusing patients, staff appeals sentencing

An Alabama dentist who was recently convicted of sexually abusing patients and staff is now appealing his sentencing, NBC affiliate WVTM reported April 4.

Joseph Clarence Cox, DMD, was found guilty in January of two counts of rape in the first degree, two counts of sodomy in the first degree and eight counts of sexual abuse in the first degree. He was later sentenced to 180 years in prison for the charges.
