The school hopes that the program can help fill in the workforce gaps and demand for dental hygienists, especially in the Gulf Coast region, according to an April 23 news release from the college.

The ADA’s Commission on Dental Accreditation is currently reviewing the program for its initial accreditation status, with the determination being made in August.

The program is expected to begin in the fall 2024 semester, the release said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
