Lyon College breaks ground on 1st dental school in Arkansas

Batesville, Ark.-based Lyon College broke ground on a dental school in Little Rock, Ark., the state’s first, according to a July 25 report by K8 News.

The Lyon College School of Dental Medicine will be located in Little Rock’s Riverdale neighborhood and includes an on-site clinic. The dental school aims to expand access to dental care in Arkansas while providing dental students hands-on experience.

The inaugural class will be 80 students, the report said.

The college received $15 million in federal funding to help open the dental school earlier this year.
