Former Marquette dentistry director dies

Richard Hagner, DDS, former clinical director at the Marquette University School of Dentistry, died at age 70, the school said Aug. 25.

Dr. Hagner graduated from Marquette’s dental school in 1980 and later spent 16 years teaching at the school, according to a news release from the university.

Dr. Hagner played a pivotal role in the design of a new dental clinic that was added during the dental school’s 2012 expansion. 

He also served as a captain in the U.S. Army for 22 years and joined the Army Dental Corps as a dentist. Dr. Hagner retired with the rank of colonel, the release said.
