Dr. John Kent receives AAOMS Distinguished Service Award

John Kent II, DDS, recently received the Robert V. Walker Distinguished Service Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Kent served as head of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Baton Rouge-based Louisiana State University and chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans for more than 30 years. Dr. Kent was also president of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the Louisiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

He also authored 25 books and over 250 peer-reviewed articles, according to a Sept. 25 news release.
