Dentalpost surveyed 366 dental assistants to create this year’s report. The survey was conducted from October to November 2024.
Here are four notes on dental assistant compensation from the report:
1. The average total income for dental assistants in 2024 increased by 7.1% from 2023.
2. The average hourly rate for responding dental assistants was $26.96 in 2024.
3. About 66% of responding dental assistants reported getting a pay raise within the last two years.
4. Despite the pay increases, 36.6% of dental assistants reported being dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with their total compensation.
