South Carolina dental practice experiences data breach affecting 25,000

Rinehart Dentistry in Georgetown, S.C., recently experienced a data breach affecting 25,000 individuals. 

The practice discovered that an unauthorized party was able to gain access to sensitive patient information provided to the practice, according to a March 26 article published in JD Supra.

The practice submitted the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights Breach Portal March 24. 

Strauss Borrelli, a data breach law firm, said March 26 that it is investigating the practice regarding the data breach.
