The University of Pikeville (Ky.) has received a $2.35 million donation to help launch its dental school.

The funding will be used on a new pediatric dental clinic and a scholarship program, according to an April 23 news release from the university.

The Tanner College of Dental Medicine will be the first dental school in Eastern Kentucky and is expected to open in 2026.

The contribution is from Delta Dental of Kentucky Foundation, the report said.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
