Colorado Gov. Jared Polis recently issued an executive order that includes cuts to the state’s Medicaid program.

Four notes:

1. Gov. Polis issues Executive Order D2025-014 to help fill the state’s $750 million budget deficit.

2. The executive order includes more than $89 million in budget cuts for various programs, which will primarily affect healthcare providers in the state.

3. Among the cuts is a $2,500,000 cut to dental rates and a rollback of the state’s 1.6% reimbursement rate increase.

4. Gov. Polis told lawmakers during a recent budget meeting that the cuts were “just the tip of the iceberg,” The Aspen Times reported Sept. 2.
