Here are three things to know:
1. Fourth-year dental students will rotate between seven clinics where community members do not have access to care and there is a shortage of dentists.
2. The grant is a collaboration between IU School of Dentistry, Bowen Center for Health Workforce Research and Policy at IU School of Medicine in Indianapolis and the Indiana State Department of Health/State Oral Health director.
3. According to IU School of Dentistry officials, the care is critical, as many of the communities they will be serving are dealing with poverty, lack of transportation and difficulty finding providers.
