The American Dental Association has urged CMS to retain oversight of Medicare Advantage supplemental benefits.
Proposed changes for contract year 2027 could weaken transparency, lessen insurer accountability and reduce access to care, according to a Feb. 3 news release from the ADA.
Changes to the Medicare Advantage program would loosen reporting requirements and grant network adequacy exceptions.
While the ADA has supported changes to reduce administrative burdens, weaker reporting requirements could prevent Medicare Advantage beneficiaries from receiving the care they were promised, the release said.
