Issaqueena Pediatric Dentistry recently experienced a ransomware attack affecting 501 individuals.

The practice said in a notice on its website that an unauthorized actor gained access to certain files within its systems between Nov. 9 and 11. An investigation determined that the unauthorized actor accessed certain files, and the practice is currently working to determine whether personal information or protected health information was included in those files.

The practice said it is unable to confirm whether it paid a ransom. It added that it is currently working with law enforcement on its ongoing investigation.

The practice submitted the incident to the HHS Department’s Office of Civil Rights Breach Portal Feb. 4.

Issaqueena Pediatric Dentistry has locations in Piedmont, Clemson and Seneca, S.C.
