The Nevada Commissioner of Insurance has adopted new regulations governing how insurers report data for standalone dental plans, according to a Feb. 24 report from Insurance Business

The amended regulation, R134-24, requires that insurers file an annual report on or before May 1 that covers all losses incurred and all premiums earned for the previous calendar year.

Standalone dental insurance is defined in the regulation as a policy that only pays for dental services and is issued separately from any other health insurance policy.

Dental insurers will first be required to file under the new schedule by May 1, 2026, the report said.
