The American Association of Dental Board has introduced legislation to join the Interstate Dental and Dental Hygiene Licensure Compact in four states.
Legislation has been put forward in Mississippi, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, according to a Feb. 25 news release from the AADB.
The compact creates a pathway for dental professionals to practice dentistry across state lines, while state dental boards maintain control over licensing and disciplinary actions in their own states.
Louisiana became the first state to join the IDDHL compact in 2025.
